Muri i një kalaje të vjetër është zbuluar gjatë punimeve për rikonstruksionin e rrugës Thoma Kalefi në qytetin e Elbasanit . Rrënojat e murit që sipas arkeologëve I përket periudhës osmane janë zbuluar në afërsi të sheshit të Namazgjasë. Për këtë arsye fillimisht specialistët dyshuan se ato ishin rrënoja të xhamisë së vjetër të Namasgjasë. Pas verifikimeve të para të arkeologëve rezultoi se rrënojat janë pjesë e një muri kalaje, dhe po studiohet teza e lidhjes së tyre me kalanë në qendër të qytetit. Për zbulimin e rrënojave të murit të periudhës osmane është njoftuar edhe Ministria e Kulturës .Ekspertët e saj pritet të vendosin për trajtimin në vazhdim të këtij zbulimi si dhe për mundësinë e vazhdimit të punimeve në rrugën që po rikonstruktohej.
The wall of an old castle is discovered during the reconstruction works of Thomas Kalefi street in the city of Elbasan. Ruins of the wall by archaeologists of the Ottoman period were discovered near the site of Namazgjasë. For this reason specialists initially suspected that they were the ruins of an old mosque Namasgjasë. After verification before the archaeologists found that the ruins are part of a castle wall, and I studied their thesis connection with the castle in the city center.
