Qeveria shqiptare është paditur ne arbitrazhin ndërkombëtar nga kompania çeke CEZ, e cila ka nisur zyrtarisht ankimimin për heqje te njëanshme te licencës. Ne një njoftim zyrtar ne faqen e kësaj kompanie thuhet se ajo do te kërkoje edhe dëmshpërblim për këtë veprim, por shuma qe ata pretendojnë nuk behet e ditur. Duke ju referuar këtij njoftimi CEZ thotë se baza ligjore ku do mbështet ky proces është traktati i energjisë i cili është firmosur nga dy vendet dhe qe ka nisur qe nga viti 1995. Megjithatë nënvizon CEZ, nuk përjashtohet mundësia e arritjes se një marrëveshje jashtë dyerve te arbitrazhit. Zyrtarisht kompania çeke ka njoftuar palën shqiptare qe ne muajin shkurt për një praktike te tille. Por mesa duet procedurat kane nisur këtë muaj zyrtarisht. Sipas te dhënave, mes palëve ka patur negociata për arritjen e një pajtimi te mundshëm por duket ato nuk kane dhëne rezultate, si ne nivelin politik ashtu edhe atë teknik. Ne fillim te këtij viti qeveria shqiptare i hoqi licencën e shpërndarjes se energjisë kompanisë CEZ, me argumentin se ajo nuk plotësoi detyrimet siç ishin investimet si dhe blerja e energjisë elektrike. Ky vendim erdhi ne mënyre te njëanshme nga pala shqiptare. Ndërkohe kompania çeke ndodhet ne konflikt gjyqësor edhe me Bullgarinë, për arsye te ngjashme.
