Kosova eshte vendi me varfer ne Evrope ndersa ndodhet ne vendin e nente ne bote. Ky eshte rezultati i publikuar ne nje shkrim analitik te "Biznes Insider", e cila ka shfrytezuar te dhenat e Cia Factbook per te bere nje renditje te 25 vendeve me te varfra ne glob.
Sipas ketyre te dhenave indeki i varferise, thuhet ne shkrimin e "Biznes Insider" eshte 53.6%, ndersa papunesia ne shtetin me te ri ne Ballkan eshte 45.3%. Ne dokument thuhet se mesatarja vjetore e të ardhurave per banore është 7.400 dollarë. Pak frymëmarrje ekonomisë se Kosovës i kane dhene remitancat nga vendet e tjera evropiane, kryesisht nga Zvicra, Gjermania dhe shtetet nordike te cilat përbëjnë 18 përqind të GDP-së. Ne listen e 25 vendeve me te varfera ne bote ndodhet edhe Bosnje Hercegovina, e cila eshte renditur ne vendin e 20. Vendin e pare ne kete analize te "Biznes Insider" per vendin me te varfer ne bote e mban Zimbabve.
