Një fond investimesh, që udhëhiqet nga ish sekretarja amerikane e shtetit, Madeleine Albright, ka vendosur përfundimisht të tërhiqet nga gara për privatizimin e Postës dhe Telekomit të Kosovës. Lajmi u be publik nga e perditshmja amerikane "New York Times". Drejtori menaxhues i "Albright Capital Management", Nelson Oliveira, ka konfirmuar zyrtarisht se në tetor, është vendosur të ndiqen mundësi të tjera për të cilat besohet se pasqyrojnë mundësi më të mëdha suksesi për investitorët". "Ne vleresojme transaksionet ne tregjet e reja mbi baza konstante dhe duhet duhet te vendosim per mundesite me te mira, per te rritur burimet dhe kapitalet tona. Ndaj duhet te them se ne heqim dore nga PTK-ja. Ne tetor vendosem te shqyrtojme mundesi te tjera per te cilat ne besojme se jane me te suksesshme per investitoret tane". Tërheqja e kësaj kompanie nuk është publikuar zyrtarisht nga qeveria e Kosovës. Sipas z.Oliviera, publikimi nuk është bërë për shkak të konfidencialitetit, që kërkohet në procesin e tenderimit. Tërheqja është bërë përpara 31 janarit, që ishte afati i fundit për aplikim, ku ishin futur pesë konsorciume që kanë shprehur interesim për ta blerë kompaninë e telekomunikimit. Vendimi gjithashtu ka ardhur për shkak të shqetësimit në rritje në Kosovë dhe jashtë saj për mundësinë e konfliktit të interesit ose trajtimit të veçantë për fondin e prirë nga Albright, e cila kishte luajtur një rol të rëndësishëm në ndërhyrjen e vitit 1999, që i kishte prirë ndarjes së Kosovës prej Serbisë dhe deklarimit të pavarësisë së saj në vitin 2008.
