Shtetet e Bashkuara te Amerikës kane leshuar kritika te ashpra ndaj politikes shqiptare ne raport me çeshtjen kombetare.
Gjate nje konference per bashkëpunimin dhe sigurine ne Ballkanin perëndimor, ambasadori amerikan ne Tirane, Aleksander Arvizu eshte shprehur se deklaratat per nje Shqipëri te madhe jane te reme dhe perdoren per te larguar vëmendjen nga problemet reale te vendit. Duke sjelle ne vemendje anullimin e vizites se ministrit te Jashtëm grek dhe presidentit maqedonas, diplomati amerikan ka kërkuar nga kryeministri Sali Berisha t'i jape fund retorikes nacionaliste. Ambasadori ka kritikuar edhe Aleancën Kuqezi duke theksuar se SHBA nuk do te mbeshtese ndryshimin e kufijve ne rajon. Deklaratat e kryeministrit Berisha kane shqetesuar jo vetem Shtetet e Bashkuara, por edhe Brukselin pasi ne konkluzionet e Këshillit Europian per here te pare u vendos apeli per ruajtjen e marrëdhënieve te fqinjësisë se mire ne rajon.
United States of America have issued harsh criticism against Albanian policy in relation to the national question.
During a conference on cooperation and security in the Western Balkans, the U.S. ambassador in Tirana, Alexander Arvizu stated that claims for a Greater Albania are reme and used to divert attention from the real problems of the country. Recalling the cancellation of the visit of Foreign Minister of Greek and Macedonian President, American diplomat asked by Prime Minister Sali Berisha to end nationalist rhetoric. Red and Black Alliance criticized Ambassador noted that the U.S. would not support the change of borders in the region. Statements of Prime Minister Berisha has concerned not only the United States, but also Brussels after the conclusions of the European Council for the first time decided to appeal maintaining good neighborly relations in the region.
