"Ish te burgosurit politik i vene flaken vetes për te vene drejtësi", - ky është titulli i një artikulli qe gazeta prestigjioze italiane, "Corriere Della Sera", i ka kushtuar grevës se ish te përndjekurve politike ne Shqipëri. Gazetari qe mbulon aktivitetin e "Amensty International", Rikardo Nouri, shkruan se ish te burgosurit kane nisur një greve urie ne shenje proteste për vonesat qe qeveria i ka bere shpërblimeve te viteve te burgut, parashikuar ne një ligj te miratuar ne 2007.
Greva është pasuar dhe me veteflimin ne 8 tetor dhe 10 tetor, fillimisht Gjergj Ndreca qe i vuri flaken vetes, akt ky qe u pasua edhe nga Lirak Bejko. Me 12 tetor, shkruan "Korriere", ambasadori amerikan Arvizu dhe delegacioni i BE-se ndërmjetësoi një takim mes një përfaqësie te grevisteve dhe presidentit shqiptar Bujar Nishani. Por ne te njëjtën kohe kryeministri Sali Berisha vijoi ti hidhte benzine zjarrit duke thëne se protesta e ish te përndjekurve ka një motivim politik. Prej atij momenti, Shtetet e Bashkua, Ambasadori i BE-se edhe tre organizata jo qeveritare shqiptare, kane kërkuar nisjen e dialogut për te zgjidhur këtë situate. Ne shkrim nënvizohet gjithashtu se ish te përndjekurit veç disa dëmshpërblimeve te pjesshme dhëne sipas ligjit te vitit 2007, nuk kane marre asnjë kompensim tjetër nga qeveria.
