Rritja e borxhit publik ne kufijtë e tij limit ka sjelle debate ne komisionin e Ekonomisë. Opozita ka ngritur shqetësimin per rrezikun qe i vjen ekonomisë nga shtimi i huave te qeverise. Por ministri i Financave Ridvan Bode tha se ajo qe përbën problem nuk është niveli i borxhit publik, por qëndrueshmëria e tij. "Ju garantoj qe borxhi publik nuk është problem, por vetëm qëndrueshmëria e tij, po kërkojmë borxh jashtë me interesa te ulëta dhe koheshlyerje te gjate". Ndërsa kryetari i Kontrollit te Larte te Shtetit kerkoi qe per dy vitet e ardhshme Kuvendi te përcaktoje me ligj kufirin e borxhit publik. Deklaratat u bene gjate diskutimit për buxhetin 2011, qe ne fund rezultoi me mosrealizim.
