Ish-Presidenti i Republikës, Bamir Topi, shprehet optimist për qëndrimin e Bashkimit Evropian ndaj çështjes se statusit te vendit kandidat për Shqipërinë. Ne një interviste për "Vizion Plus", kreu i Partisë Fryma e Re Demokratike ka deklaruar se kjo nuk do te ndodhe për merite te qeverise dhe klasës politike, por si pasoje e zemërgjerësisë se vendeve te Bashkimit Evropian dhe faktit qe Shqipëria është nder te paktat vende ne rajon qe nuk e ka marre statusin e vendit kandidat. Bamir Topi ka përsëritur qëndrimin e FRD ne lidhje me vendimin për kthimin e banesave ish-pronareve. Duke akuzuar qeverinë për neglizhence ndaj çështjes se pronave, Bamir Topi deklaroi se ky vendim duhet te shoqërohet nga një proces dëmshpërblimi. Sipas Bamir Topit, Fryma e Re Demokratike, një nga prioritete e saj ka rikthimin e te drejtës se pronësisë.
