Ndonëse vitet e fundit kane qene te vrullshme ne aspektin ekonomik, për shkak edhe te krizës financiare, se çfarë ndikimi kane patur ne buxhetet familjare, këtë askush nuk e di. Dy tregues kryesore qe tregojnë nivelin e jetës se shqiptareve, siç është ai i varfërisë apo anketa e buxheteve familjare, datojnë ne vitin 2007-2008. U bene katër vite qe tregues te tille nuk rishikohen duke ne lëne ne një terr te plote statistikore. I vetmi tregues është ai i shitjeve me pakice, një zë ky i cili tregon qarte për rënie te konsumit te shqiptareve, për shkak se te dhënat e fundit evidentuar një renie me 1 .2%. Prej kohesh eksperte por edhe përfaqësues ndërkombëtare siç është Banka Botërore dhe Fondi Monetare Ndërkombëtar kane ngritur shqetësim jo vetëm per mungesa e publikimit por edhe për besueshmërinë e shifrave. Nisur nga kjo situate, qeveritaret e kane me te lehte te deklarojnë se te ardhurat e shqiptareve arrijnë ne 8 mije dollarë për fryme ne vit.
