Privatizimi i "Albpetrolit" nuk është thjesht shitje e një kompanie shtetërore, por edhe një hap qe mbart efekte politike mes Shqipërisë dhe shtetit qe do te përfaqësoje firma fituese e tenderit. Ekspertet e energjisë janë te mendimit se për shkak se ky privatizim konsiderohet strategjik, qeveria duhet te tregohet e kujdesshme se kujt prej kompanive duhet ti japë përparësi.
