Ne sezonin 2013-14 superliga shqiptare e futbollit do te ketë 12 skuadra. Pas gati 20 dite debatesh Komiteti Ekzekutiv i Federatës Shqiptare ka marre vendimin për reduktimin e ekipeve nga 14 ne 12 skuadra dhe jo 10 siç kishin paraqitur kërkesën disa klube.
Kampionati i vitit 2013 do te jete me 3 faza nga superliga do te largohen 4 skuadra ndërsa do te afrohen dy te tilla nga kategoria e pare e futbollit. Ndërkohë komiteti ekzekutiv ka vendosur qe një vit me vone ne sezonin 2014-2015 superliga te jete me 10 skuadra dhe 4 faza por akoma nuk është vendosur se sa ekipe do te largohen dhe sa do te afrohen. Debati për reduktimin e superliges kishte nisur ne 4 qershor kur klubet elitare kishin bere një kërkese te tille me argumentin se kjo gjë rrit nivelin e kampionatit dhe shton te ardhurat për klubet sidomos nga e drejta televizive. Ndërsa për klubet kundër federata kishte dështuar njëherë me eksperimente te tilla. Pas 5 sezonesh skema e kampionatit kishte ndryshuar vetëm një vit me pare me rritjen e numrit nga 12 ne 14 ekipeve . Pas viteve 90 skema e superliges është ndërruar 12 here ku rekordin e numrit pjesëmarrës e patën vitet '96, '98 me 18 skuadra.
Albanian Superliga 2013-14 season of football will have 12 teams. After nearly 20 days of debates Albanian Federation Executive Committee has taken the decision to reduce from 14 teams to 12 teams and not 10 as some clubs had filed the petition.
The 2013 Championship will be the third phase of the Superliga will leave 4 teams and will be approaching two such from the first category of football. While the executive committee has decided that a year later in the season 2014-2015 Superliga be with 10 teams and 4 stages but is not yet decided how teams will leave and how to approach. Super debate reduction had begun in June 4 when the elite clubs had made such a request on the grounds that it increases the level of the tournament and adds revenue for clubs, especially from television rights. As for clubs against the federation had failed once with such experiments. After 5 seasons of championship scheme had changed only a year ago to increase the number from 12 to 14 teams. After 90 years of super scheme has been changed 12 times where a record number of participants had the years '96, '98 with 18 teams.
