Pas një sere deklaratash te ndërkombëtareve qe i kërkojnë Beogradit zyrtar qe te vazhdoje bisedimet me Prishtinën, presidenti i ri i Serbisë radikali, Tomisllav Nikolic, ka thënë se negociatat do te vijojnë, por Serbia nuk do te heqë dore nga Kosova. Këto komente Nikolic i ka bere gjate një interviste për televizioni rus "Rusia Today", ndërsa shton se ai nuk do te takohet me kryeministrin Thaçi, pasi ai është ende një i dyshuar për krime lufte. "Unë i respektoj vlerat evropiane, por nëse ne procesin tone te integrimit na kërkohet te heqim dore nga një pjese e territorit, nga Kosova atëherë ai do te ndalet. Ne do te vijojmë dialogun me Prishtinën, por jo me Hashim Thaçin, sepse ai është një i dyshuar për krime lufte kundër popullit serb," u shpreh Nikolic. Presidenti i ri serb njihet për retorike nacionaliste kundër Kosovës dhe një gjë te tille e ka dëshmuar edhe gjate fushatës zgjedhore, ne veri te Mitrovicës. Nikolic është zgjedhur president i Serbisë ne balotazhin e 20 majit, pasi mundi Boris Tadic.
