Ambasadori i SHBA-ve në Tiranë, Aleksandër Arvizu, ka apeluar për heqjen e imunitetit për zyrtaret e larte dhe për gjyqtaret. Duke folur ne Konferencën e Kryetareve te Gjykatave te Larta të Evropës Qendrore dhe Lindore, Arvizu theksoi se transparenca, pavarësia dhe heqja e imunitetit do te bënte te mundur një drejtësi më efektive. "Pika e parë për drejtësinë efektive është transparenca, e cila është thelbësore për qytetarët. Pika e dytë është pavarësia e gjyqësorit, e cila kërkon integritet personal të gjyqtarëve dhe nevojë për t'i rezistuar tundimit të parasë dhe ndërhyrjes së miqve dhe familjarëve. Asnjë hetim s`mund të zhvillohet pa hequr imunitetin. Nëse doni të përmirësoni perceptimin e publikut, atëherë hiqni imunitetin ndaj zyrtarëve në politikë apo gjyqësor, sidomos nga procedimi penal," është shprehur Arvizu. Ndërsa Presidenti i Republikës, Bamir Topi, njëkohësisht kryetar i Këshillit të Lartë të Drejtësisë, e vuri theksin edhe te rëndësia e reformave qe vendi duhet te përmbushë për të marrë statusin e kandidatit për në BE. "Një nga kriteret është arritja sa më shpejt e standardeve që kanë të bëjnë me drejtësinë. Gjykata është garant i funksionimit të shtetit. Gjykata nuk është e askujt por e të gjithëve. Gjyqtari i pavarur ka mundësi të mbrojë dhe të japë drejtësi, por është e nevojshme që ky koncept të pranohet nga vetë gjyqtarët. Nëse ata vetë nuk janë të ndërgjegjshëm për forcën e madhe që jep pavarësia, atëherë as kushtetuta dhe as ligji nuk bëjnë dot gjë," deklaroi Topi. Presidenti vlerësoi se sistemi i drejtësisë ka nevojë për përmirësim, duke theksuar se arritja e standardeve kërkon përpjekje nga të gjithë.
