Gara presidenciale ka rikthyer ne selinë e PS ish kryetarin e kësaj partie Fatos Nano. Për rreth 2 ore Nano ka zhvilluar një takim me kryetarin e PS Rama dhe kreun e grupit parlamentar te PS Gramoz Ruci, një takim i cili duket se nuk i ka siguruar Nanos mbështetjen e partisë qe ai ka drejtuar dikur. Ne fund te takimit Nano ka deklaruar vetëm se i ka paraqitur platformën e tij kryetarit te partisë me te madhe te opozitës. Pas takimit PS ka publikuar një njoftim zyrtar ku konfirmon se ne këtë faze opozita nuk do te propozoje një emër te përveçëm ne garën për president. "Për Partinë Socialiste është shumë e qartë se nga një proces sa më gjithëpërfshirës duhet të shkohet drejt emrit të Presidentit të ri të Republikës. Partia Socialiste do të aktivizohet së shpejti publikisht përmes kryetarit të saj Edi Rama dhe drejtuesve të tjerë të mandatuar nga forumi më i lartë i PS, për të komunikuar drejtpërdrejt me palët e tjera parlamentare pa dallim," thuhet ne njoftimin për shtyp te PS. Vete kryetari i PS, Rama, edhe pse ka komunikuar me mediat 30 minuta pas takimit me Nanon ka preferuar te mos flasë për debatin presidencial. Ne vitin 2007 Fatos Nano u vete ofrua si kandidat për president, por nuk arriti te siguronte mbështetjen e socialisteve dhe 20 firmat e deputeteve qe te hynte zyrtarisht ne garën për kreun e shtetit.
Presidential race has returned to former SP headquarters of the party chairman Fatos Nano. For about 2 hours Nano has met with chairman of SP leader Rama and SP parliamentary group Gramoz Ruci, a meeting which did not seem to ensure Nano support of the party he once led. At the end of the meeting stated only that the Nano has presented his platform of the party chairman's largest opposition. After meeting the SP has published an official notice which confirms that at this stage the opposition would not propose a name for impersonal in the race for president.
