Dy rekomandimet e Këshillit te Punëve te Përgjithshme te Bashkimit Evropian janë cilësuar nga Shtetet e Bashkuara te Amerikës si një drite jeshile për Serbinë dhe Kosovën ne perspektiven euroatlantike. Përmes një deklarate, anëtari kongresit ne SHBA, Eliot Engel, ka vlerësuar vendimin e ministrave, ndërsa ka shtuar se dy vendet fqinje duhet te qëndrojnë korrekte ne plotësimin e marrëveshjeve te arritura ne Bruksel. "E ardhmja e Kosovës, e Serbisë dhe e të gjitha vendeve të Ballkanit është brenda strukturave kryesore euroatlantike, NATO-s dhe Bashkimit Evropian. Kjo nënkupton se vendet e rajonit ndajnë fat te përbashkët dhe duhet të vlerësohen nga standardet e përbashkëta të respektit për fqinjët e tyre. Me rëndësi mbetet qe si Serbia ashtu dhe Kosova te realizojnë ne terren marrëveshjet e nënshkruara," është shprehur Engel. Pavarësisht euforisë ne rangjet diplomatike, analistja e çështjeve te rajonit Verena Knaus, tërheq vëmendjen se deri ne këtë pike është favorizuar me shume Serbia. Sipas saj, unioni duhet te tregohet korrekt me Prishtinën zyrtare dhe te përshpejtohet dinamika e kompletimit te studimit te fizibilitetit për marrëveshjen e stabilizim-asocimit. Knaus sqaron se Kosovës i është dashur te beje kompromis për emrin ne mënyrë qe te përfitojë këtë rekomandim, ndaj dhe përgjegjësia e unionit duhet te jete me e madhe kundrejt shtetit me te ri ne Ballkan.
