Për herë të parë në Shqipëri stafi i mjekëve të QSUT-së ka arritur të mbyllë me sukses një operacion shumë të rrallë në zemër, qe realizohet në pak spitale edhe në botë.
Sipas drejtorit të kësaj qendre, i cili ishte dhe mjeku kryesor që realizoi ndërhyrjen, operacioni ishte mjaft i vështirë pasi konsistonte ne zëvendësimin e aortës, arteries kryesore që furnizon me gjak trurin. Pacienti 64 vjeçar Agim Kodra prej 9 ditësh në spital ka shfaqur shenja të kënaqshme të përmirësimit të shëndetit të tij. Ai thotë për mediat se nuk arrin dot ta besojë qe ka shpëtuar. Operacioni ka zgjatur afërsisht 10 orë e natyrisht do te kishte kosto me te larte nëse pacienti do te dërgohej jashtë vendit. Pas këtij suksesi kjo ndërhyrje hyn ne listën e shërbimeve qe ofron Qendra Spitalore Universitare Nënë Tereza.
