Gjykata e Larte ka pranuar sot padinë penale te disa prej te dëmtuarve nga shpërthimi ne tragjedinë e Gërdecit. Nga 27 te lënduar qe e akuzojnë ish-ministrin e Mbrojtjes Fatmir Mediu, sot ministër i Mjedisit, për "plagosje te rende me dashje", Gjykata ka legjitimuar vetëm 5 prej tyre qe kishin nënshkruar kërkesën qe ne fillim dhe qe ishin prezent ne salle. Avokati i te dëmtuarve Dorian Matlia, kërkoi nga Gjykata e Larte qe te procedohej me kërkesën për heqjen e imunitetit ndaj zotit Mediu, ndërsa mbrojtja e ministrit vërejti se akuza për plagosje te rende është spekulimi i radhës. Trupi gjykues u kërkoi paditësve te paraqisnin prova ne mbështetje te akuzës, para se te japë vendimin, duke u lënë kohe atyre deri te martën ne darke. Ndërkohë, Gjykata e Larte i ka kaluar për kompetence Gjykatës se Tiranes padite e te plagosurve për tre protagonistet e tjerë te tragjedisë se Gërdecit: Ylli Pinarin, Dritan Minxollin dhe Sokol Ngjecin. Paditësit janë banore te fshatit Gërdec dhe nga shpërthimi i 15 Marsit 2008 ata pësuan djegie te renda ne trup. Mes tyre ndodhet dhe një vajze 10-vjeçare.
