Pjesa me e madhe e institucioneve shqiptare, qofshin këto akademike, universitare ose jo, kane ne ndërtesat e tyre edhe ambiente bibliotekash. Por a frekuentohen ato? A pasurohen me literature dhe për çfarë shfrytëzohen? Biblioteka e Galerisë Kombëtare, e krijuar prej vitit 2001, ka plot 3700 tituj qe lidhen ngushtësisht me artin pamor, por edhe arkitekturën. E megjithatë, frekuentimi i saj është pothuajse zero, qofte nga studentet apo studiuesit. Një tjetër panorame shfaqet ne bibliotekën e Universitetit te Arteve. Dixhitalizimi i koleksioneve, sidomos atyre qe kane te bëjnë me muzikën klasike botërore, i ka afruar studentet me shume me këto ambiente. Sipas drejtueses se kësaj biblioteke, te krijuar ne vitin 1966, hapi me kohen është arsyeja e frekuentimit, te paktën nga një pjese e studenteve, atyre te muzikës. Te njëjtin fat me bibliotekën e profilizuar te galerisë, ka edhe ajo e Institutit te Historisë, si pjese e rrjetit te bibliotekave te Qendrës Albanologjike. Edhe pse me 120 mije tituj, ajo frekuentohet nga studiues te pakte, pasi procesi i dixhitalizimit, i cili lehtëson punën, sapo ka nisur. Ne kohen e teknologjisë, internetit dhe çdo mjeti tjetër te ngjashëm, frekuentimi i bibliotekave duket se është i pakte, sidomos atyre te profilizuara.
