Pas 20 viteve ndërprerje rikthehet mjekësia nukleare ne Shqipëri. Trajtimi i pacienteve do te behet ne QSUT nga një staf i specializuar për te përdorur këto aparatura qe lëshojnë rrezatim. Mjekësia nukleare eviton ndërhyrjet kirurgjikale ne diagnoza ku mund te behet bombardimi me rreze i qelizave tumorale. Pacientet e pare qe do te kurohen janë ata qe vuajnë nga tiroidet, me një numër rreth 400 persona qe kane nevoje për këtë ndërhyrje. Sipas mjekeve ne vend çdo vit shfaqen 100 raste te reja me tumor ne gjëndrën tiroide. Shkaqet janë disa ku nder me te rëndësishmit përmendet ndotja e ambientit dhe ushqimet e pakontrolluara.
