Pavarësisht statusit te Parkut Kombëtar qe mban, Llogaraja nuk i ka shpëtuar masakrës ne pyje.
Qindra pisha dhe dru dushku thuajse 20 vjeçare janë prere ne zona te ndryshme, duke nisur nga qafa e Llogarase, tek vendi i quajtur antenat, madje edhe ne zonën e çezmave te ujit. Zyrtare te shërbimit pyjor pohojnë se kane identifikuar autoret dhe se demet janë kryer ne periudhën e verës, kur ky shërbim ishte i angazhuar ne shuarjen e zjarreve. Sipas tyre dy banore kane prere pyjet për te ndërtuar një vathe për bagëtitë. Ky nuk është rasti i vetëm i dëmtimeve ne parkun e Llogarase. E megjithatë, deri tani nuk është proceduar asnjë person edhe pse prerja e pyjeve ne parkun kombëtar përbën kundravajtje penale dhe parashikon nga gjobe deri ne një vit burg. Prerja e pyjeve sipas specialisteve rrezikon edhe nisjen e erozionit te tokës ne Llogara. Fenomeni i shfrytëzimit pa kriter i pyjeve është shtrire edhe ne zona te tjera te Vlorës, si ne Karaburun ku u pre pak kohe me pare një sipërfaqe e madhe me drurin industrial te valanidhit.
