Ministri i jashtëm i Maqedonisë Nikola Poposki ka vizituar Tiranen pikërisht ne kohen kur dy vendet fqinje kane filluar regjistrimin e përgjithshëm te popullsisë.
Kryediplomati i Shkupit ka biseduar mbi këtë çështje me homologun e tij shqiptar Edmond Haxhinasto, i cili nga ana e tij ka siguruar se censusi do te zhvillohet sipas standardeve evropiane dhe duke nxjerre ne fund te dhëna reale mbi përqindjen e minoriteteve. "Mendoj se procesi i censusit ofron të gjithë hapësirën dhe garancinë e nevojshme që rezultati të jetë në përputhje të plotë me realitetin e minoriteve në Shqipëri. Çdo pretendim i kundërt me këtë ka një ndikim të fortë politik, i panevojshëm dhe i parëndësishëm," është shprehur Haxhinasto. Nga ana e tij Poposki tha se do te bëhen te gjitha përpjekjet qe maqedonasit qe jetojnë ne Shqipëri te marrin pjese ne këtë proces. Por ai nuk foli mbi regjistrimin e shqiptareve qe jetojnë ne vendin e tij. Me herët, gjate takimit mes dy delegacioneve, ministri Haxhinasto i kërkoi homologut te tij zbatimin e plote te marrëveshjes se Ohrit. Diplomati Nikola Poposki ka vijuar takimet e tij me kryeministrin Berisha dhe presidentin Bamir Topi ku ne qendër te bisedimeve me krerët e larte te shtetit qëndronte thellimi i marrëdhënieve dypalëshe.
