Deputeti i partisë Socialiste Fatmir Xhafa ka ngritur dyshime ne parlament se autoret e vërtetë te vrasjes ne Vlore janë njerëz te lidhur me mafien e tokave. Duke përfituar nga fakti se ne Kuvend u diskutuan disa amendime mbi ligjin e mbrojtjes se dëshmitarit, Xhafa ka deklaruar se shume krime ne Shqipëri nuk zbardhen për shkak se mungon besimi i dëshmitareve apo bashkëpunëtoreve te drejtësisë te shteti. Por ministri i Brendshëm, pa iu referuar direkt atentatit ne Vlorë, ka deklaruar se po zbatohet me korrektësi ligji për mbrojtjen e dëshmitarëve. Por si kundërpërgjigje, ai akuzon opozitën se po e keqpërdor politikisht ligjin. Ndërsa deputetja socialiste Ermonela Felaj ka akuzuar shtetin se nuk merr ne mbrojtje dëshmitarë kyç te drejtësisë, duke përmendur emra konkret ne fjalën e saj. Opozita kritikoi kryeministrin Berisha e Presidentin Topi qe sipas tyre duhej te merrnin pjese ne ceremoninë e varrimit te gjyqtarit Konomi.
