Holly Holm Knocks Out Ronda Rousey In The Second Round Of UFC 193 November 13, 2015 In A HUGE UPSET! Fight Results MMA Fights Knockout Kings.
Ronda Rousey will soon begin her electric race to the Octagon to the tune of Joan Jett's "Bad Reputation," looking to make the third successful title defense of her women's Bantamweight belt in the span of 10 months. Standing across the cage will be Holly Holm, an undefeated (9-0) mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter who has 38 professional boxing matches to her credit (33-2-3).
Regardless, opportunity knocked and Letourneau answered the call. She is a tough customer, but so, too, was Penne. And that didn't turn out very well.
The PPV-televised portion of UFC 193: "Rousey vs. Holm" will begin at 10 p.m. ET on Saturday. In addition to the aforementioned main and co-main events, the PPV will feature a Heavyweight rematch between hard-hitting veterans Mark Hunt and Antonio Silva, as well as the quick return of Uriah Hall, who stepped up on short notice to fight "The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): The Smashes" winner, Robert Whittaker, when Michael Bisping was forced to withdraw from the event with an injury.
Now, "Money" weighs in on the pound-for-pound stalwart's controversial Ring Magazine cover through FightHype.com:
"Well, you know, congratulations, but you know the sport is starting to look bad when a female fighter from a whole other sport is on the cover of a boxing book. You gotta realize this: we all know Oscar De La Hoya owns the Ring Magazine. That shows you; he has no fighters but Canelo (Alvarez). Basically, it's like he's trying to steal her from Dana White. This is real talk, how can Canelo or any fighter hold their head up high and say, 'You know what? I'm proud for Oscar, a guy that dressed in drag and been on coke.' I mean, the world knows this."
The head honcho over at Mayweather Promotions previously defeated owner of Ring Magazine and Golden Boy Promotions De La Hoya in May 2007 via split decision.
Rousey, whose amassed a bevvy of sponsorship deals and made several high-profile appearances on various morning talk shows and ESPN programming, intends on making a living racking up belts in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and the professional boxing world after she leaves UFC for good.
When Rousey does indeed move on from mixed martial arts (MMA), De La Hoya will be there to greet her if and when the Glendale Fight Club product decides to make her debut in the squared circle.
Her MMA coach believes she could do some damage, but she's not the greatest in the stand-up, according to this renowned boxing trainer.
But before any of that happens, the 28-year-old needs to successfully defend her 135-pound strap for the seventh consecutive time against ex-boxing champion Holly Holm at the UFC 193 pay-per-view (PPV) event this Saturday night (Nov. 14, 2015), after which she might "disappear for a while."
The manufactured feud between Floyd Mayweather and Ronda Rousey continues.
