A lively aggressive little bird with quick, jerky actions. It is by far the commonest of the tit species at your bird table.
The Blue Tit as a characteristic note is cheerful, scolding, 'tsee-tsee-tsee, tsit', but has many others, mostly akin to those of other tits, and its vocabulary must be learnt the hard way. Song may be rendered 'tsee-tsee-tsutsuhuhuhuhuhu'. The hen as an explosive hissing throat-display on the nest.
