Bei Bei the giant panda took his first steps under his mother’s supervision recently.

Then he takes his very first steps—all caught on camera at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo on Monday, November 9.
His four paws work—though not yet the steadiest—and mom is proud.
She nudges her baby boy as if in celebration, toppling the youngster before scooping him up in a warm-and-panda-sized embrace.
