The recent creation of the Tacna District in southern Peru by President Ollanta Humala has revived a border dispute with neighboring Chile. According to Peru, the boundary runs from the edge of sea, while for Chile it starts 270 meters inland. The Chilean Foreign Ministry called for calm but also firmness in defending what it considers to be its territorial integrity. teleSUR
