Colombia: Rebels Warn That Army Operations Threaten Ceasefire

The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) warned that increased military operations are threatening the rebels' unilateral ceasefire. In an effort to prevent a breakdown in the ceasefire, leaders of the Broad Front for Peace, a Colombian civil society initiative, met with rebel leaders in Havana. Both the FARC and the Broad Front for Peace also expressed concern over the resurgence of paramilitary activity. These issue loom prominently in the current round of peace negotiations in Havana.
