Americans are becoming less religious, according to a comprehensive survey of U.S. adults conducted by the Pew Research Center.
The survey was conducted in 2014 as a follow up to Pew's original Religious Landscape Study done in 2007.
Since the original study, the number of Americans who say they believe in God has dipped slightly from 92% in 2007 to 89% in 2014; while the number of Americans who say they are "absolutely certain" God exists has dropped much more precipitously during that same time period—from 71% in 2007 to 63% in 2014.
