Naveed Commando, a murder convict and death row prisoner, has in his startling statement of confession said that he had killed Bhola Gujjar on the orders of Punjab Law Minister, Rana Sanaullah.
In the wake of the above statement, a local court has ordered an inquiry against Rana Sanaullah, who says ‘what could be the credibility of a statement coming from a person who has been carrying a label of proclaimed offender for the past 15 years?’
Speaking in Geo News program ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath’, Rana Sanaullah said the court has ordered a probe, thus, the factual position would soon come before everyone. He said Bhola Gujjar was like a brother to him.
Naveed Commando said he had shot dead Bhola Gujjar on January 9, 2015, on the orders of Rana Sanuallah.
He said Bhola Gujjar wanted to sever ties with Rana Sanaullah as the former did not get the kind of position he wanted for himself. “And this is why Rana Sanaullah and his companions ordered his (Bhola Gujjar’s) murder,” he added.
Rana Sanaullah said Naveed Commando’s statement would only gain credibility if endorsed by the witnesses of the case.
He said the witnesses and details of the trail’s proceedings are available which explain why this murder took place. Statements of Bhola Gujjar’s brother and relatives should also be obtained to cross verify the murderer’s claims, he added.
Rana Sanaullah denied having any links with Naveed Commando, saying he had not even talked to him on the phone let alone having a meeting.
He said two suspects have already been awarded death sentence while two others got life imprisonment in the case on the basis of evidence.
The minister said if facts can be dug out through investigation then such a probe must be undertaken.
Rana Sanaullah said Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was the kind of administrator whose own son if found involved in a crime, would not go unpunished.
