Russian airliner that crashed in Sinai completely destroyed, most passengers likely to have died

A Russian plane carrying over 220 people from Egypt to Russia disapperaed from radars, according to Russian and Egyptian authorities. It is believed to have crushed in central Sinai.
Kolavia Flight 7K9268, an Airbus A320, went off radar 23 minutes after taking off from Sharm El-Sheikh International Airport, Sergey Izvolskiy told the media citing preliminary data.
A Russian civilian aircraft crashed after it went missing in Egypts Sinai region on Saturday.
There were said to be 217 passengers on board when Egypts air traffic control lost contact with the aircraft, according to Sky News Arabia.
Egyptian prime minister Sherif Ismail has confirmed that the Russian plane has crashed and has set up a cabinet level crisis committee to investigate, according to AFP.
The Russian airline Kogalymavia flight was on its way to Russia after taking off from Sharm el-Sheikh resort on the Red Sea. Most people on the plane were Russian tourists.
Local media had reported that the plane has crashed, while other news agencies were reporting Egyptian officials saying that the plane has left Egyptian airspace safely.
