Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos accepted the repeated calls by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) for a bilateral ceasefire. He said a bilateral ceasefire could begin on January 1, 2016, but that it would be contingent on an agreement on the final point in the peace talks agenda, on the demobilization and disarmament of rebel forces. Santos urged the FARC to speed up the process and reach an agreement. teleSUR
