Colombian Elections Peaceful But Marred by Vote Buying

In the past, Colombian elections have been affected by violence related to the country's armed conflict. Yesterday's elections were peaceful, but vote buying was common. The Electoral Observation Mission said five gubernatorial candidates who were "highly questionable" were elected and that they had received 1,300 complaints of vote buying.
