Venezuela Ratifies Constitutional Guarantee of Human Rights

Venezuelan officials ratified their country's constitutional guarantee of human rights before the Organization of American States. Larry Devoe of the National Council for Human Rights said human rights is a cornerstone of the country's constitution and is an example for the entire world. U.S. representatives to the OAS attacked Venezuela for having jailed right-wing leader Leopoldo Lopez, charged with instigated violence in anti-government protests that led to 43 deaths.
