Oscar Pistorius has been released from prison in South Africa and placed under house arrest. The former Olympic athlete was released after serving less than a year in prison for fatally shooting his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, on Valentine's Day in 2013. Pistorius maintained that he had mistaken Steenkamp for an intruder, and the court accepted his argument that he had not intentionally kill her. The double amputee is expected to spend the remainder of a five-year prison sentence at his uncle's upscale home in Pretoria. The International Paralympic Committee said Pistorious would be banned from competition until he completed his sentence.
