The ruins of a 16th century colonial church in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas have re-emerged from the bottom of a reservoir due to a drought that has resulted in a 80 foot drop in the water level. The church, which dates from 1564, was built by monks headed by Friar Bartolome de la Casas who arrived in the region to do missionary work among the Zoque indigenous communities. teleSUR
