Egypt is gearing up for parliamentary elections, the first since General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi came to power. A coalition of pro-Sisi parties is expected to win a majority of seats, consolidating the president's hold on power. Strict media control, ubiquitous propaganda and questionable police repression do not seem to have dented Sisi's popularity.
