Bolivia: ‘Chile Doesn’t Have a Leg to Stand On’: Evo Morales

2015-10-15 2

Bolivian President Evo Morales said that Chile does not have a leg to stand on with regards to the issue of his country’s access to the Pacific Ocean. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruled last month that it does have jurisdiction to hear Bolivia’s case. Morales added that this is not a conflict between the peoples of Chile and Bolivia, but instead a dispute imposed by oligarchies promoting their own interests, specifically British transnational corporations that broke former treaties recognizing Bolivia’s access to the sea. teleSUR
