After a visit to Guyana, a United Nations delegation has arrived in Venezuela to mediate in the territorial dispute between the two nations over the Essequibo region. The team is evaluating Venezuela’s claim to the region where U.S. oil and gas company Exxon-Mobil has been drilling for oil. In September both countries recalled their ambassadors due to the dispute, but shortly thereafter, during the United Nations 70th General Assembly, the President of Guyana David Granger and Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro agreed to send their ambassadors back to their respective posts. teleSUR
