Most beautiful Himalayan Flower? Rare Blue Poppy in Sikkim

2015-10-12 2

Meconopsis horridula is anything but horrid - one of the most beautiful and rare Himalayan flowers, it can be seen flowering here in the upper reaches of north Sikkim, along the Thangu valley and heading into Gurudongmar Lake, in the summer months.

It is classified as 'horridula' because of the spiky thorns along the stems of the plant.
