Gusts of up to 70 mph blew across southern Montana on Sunday, October 11, knocking down trees and power lines. Thousands experienced power outages in Helena, Big Sandy and Choteau, according to local news outlet KFBB. The National Weather Service said a strong cold front would continue to bring gusty winds to parts of northeast Montana but will diminish later in the night.
