In what looks like brazen attempt to defend the ink attack on Sudheendra Kulkarni, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut today termed it as a very mild form of democratic protest. "This is not paint, this is martyrs' 'blood', Raut claimed, referring to the black paint smeared on Kulkarni's face. He also said that no one could foretell on how public anger would explode.
