Colombia: Congress Debates Reforms to Concretize Peace Deal

The Colombian congress debated reforms yesterday that would concretize a peace deal currently being negotiated with the FARC. A series of reforms will be necessary to ensure implementation and compliance with the peace agreement. These include granting special transitional powers to the president and the creation of a legislative peace commission to consider necessary institutional adjustments.
