Fox News host Greta Van Susteren on Tuesday demanded that Dunkin’ Donuts offer free coffee and doughnuts to police because an employee who wrote #blacklivesmatter on an officer’s cup was part of a trend of violence against law enforcement.

Last week, a police officer in Providence, Rhode Island complained on social media after finding the Black Lives Matter hashtag on his coffee cup.

“This is absolutely disgraceful,” Van Susteren opined on Tuesday. “This is a brand new case of Dunkin’ disrespect aimed once again right at our nation’s finest.”

Lt. Roger Aspinall, a spokesman for the Providence Fraternal Order of Police, explained that a supervisor advised the officer not to drink the coffee because it might have been tainted or poisoned.

The Fox News host noted that officers seemed to have “a little bit of a target on their back right now.”

“I think it’s a trend nationally right now,” Aspinall agreed. “It’s what you see with the Black Lives Matter group promoting violence against police officers. [It’s] a very difficult time to be in law enforcement.”
