Just as IS group caught the world by surprise when it suddenly took Mosul, the Taliban have scored their biggest military coup since their ouster from power in 2001, overrunning the northern city of Kunduz on their third attempt. Weren't the Taliban supposed to be too busy arguing amongst themselves after the announcement of the death of their leader Mullah Omar? If the insurgency can hold a major city, will it force a rethink in Washington?
