My name is Steven ***, I like to get around I like to try and exercise. And may not appear it but I do cycle and water aerobics. I alternate days. I have both of my eyes worked on to remove the cataracts seven or eight years ago Dr. Karen Chao, who's my optometrist, spoke to me about the cataract in my right eye and it was almost dark I couldn't even see out of the right eye. She recommended Dr. Richardson and I went to him and from that time on I would recommend him in a New York minute and had my other eye done and there was a concern with that because that's my major eye and he knew about my vision problems because I have a dominant left eye. My right eye is what they call a lazy eye. And he was concerned-- didn't really look too worried about it but did state that because that is my dominant eye I should wait until I really do need the surgery. I have always wanted to be able to wake up in the morning without having to put contacts or glasses on and I chose the Toric lens. Doctor Richardson approved it and said, “it could work out perfectly”. And except for the fact that I have to wear “readers” now to look at small print, I had no trouble with that toric lens. And I could see perfectly it was amazing And from that time I had no trouble since. I don't think I would have been able to pass the vision test for continuing to drive but as soon as I had the surgery, I passed the vision test with no problem. My right eye-- I am able to see better than I ever have in my life. I was able to go down on the chart (the eye chart) further than I ever had. And then, my left eye I'm able to see things that I've never was able to see before and I even flabbergasted Dr. Richardson just a couple minutes earlier because he wasn't expecting me to go as far down on the eye chart as I did. So I've had no concerned about my eyes. I'm very happy about how everything has gone. And my vision, its been great! I would recommend him in a heartbeat. I haven't had any double vision since. A couple friends of mine who had their surgery done from Kaiser have had problem since. I've had no problems. Everybody is very friendly and caring and they've put me at ease always in regards to that surgery or the appointments afterwards. I just feel that everything went smoothly and I would recommend it for anyone that had a cataract surgery.
