Presidents Nicolas Maduro and Juan Manuel Santos agreed on Monday to work for a progressive normalization of the border region. They agreed on a 7-point plan that has elicited a positive reaction in both countries. Their talks were mediated by the presidents of Uruguay and Ecuador, Tabare Vazquez and Rafael Correa, in their capacity as leaders of the regional alliances UNASUR and CELAC.
