Argentina: Right-Wing Accused of Thwarting Popular Will

2015-09-22 0

The Supreme Court of the Argentine province of Tucuman revoked last week’s decision by a lower administrative court to annul the results of the August 23 gubernatorial elections, which were comfortably won by the ruling Front for Victory party (FpV). The right-wing opposition is being accused of using legal maneuvers to attempt to thwart the popular will as expressed at the ballot box. Many fear similar moves might be made in the upcoming presidential elections to prevent a FpV victory. Laureano Ponce reports from Buenos Aires. teleSUR
