Residents in the coastal town of Arica walked towards higher altitudes after a tsunami warning was issued following the 8.3 magnitude earthquake that rocked Chile on Wednesday. Security patrols could also be seen scouring the coastal area following the emergency announcement. The quake's epicentre occurred around 144 miles north-northwest of Santiago and had a depth of 21 miles according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).
