CIJ's Road map to media freedom
The world press freedom day celebrated on May 3rd & 4th and organized by the Centre of Independent Journalism once again sees presence at the Central Market Annexe.
Last year's theme had an artistic flavour as visitors to the CIJ area took part in art-based events, including children.
This year the World Press Freedom Day celebration is more focused on obtaining feedback from the public and features a survey and talks by new parliamentarian, bar council representatives, NGOs and journalists....

Inaugural Alternative Book Fair
Running next door to CIJ's area at the Annexe is the Kuala Lumpur Alternative Book Fair, put together by writer and film-maker Amir Muhammad and friends.
There are 18 participants for this inaugural event -- publishers, distributors and NGOs.
