Ousted Perak Menteri Besar Nizar Jamaluddin says that the lack of police and FRU presence in Penanti -- which is a departure from large police presence in the previous two by-elections -- shows that the police act only on the directive of the Umno government.
Since Umno is not contesting in the Penanti by-election Nizar claims, police units are not present in any substantial numbers.
